Current vintages of Flying Horse come from a vineyard located next to Aetna Springs Resort in Pope Valley, Napa Valley. Rich in nutrients and ideal for grape growing, varietals such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah and Sauvignon Blanc were chosen so that they would thrive in the well-drained rocky soil.

Because of the hot days, drip irrigation is needed to keep the vines developing during the summer months. All water for the vineyard is obtained from t he natural springs located underneath.
